Every month, you pay a premium for your policy, which covers 1-2 preventive appointments. If a problem arises, you have access to a yearly allowance after paying your annual deductible. To make the most of your coverage, Aetna recommends you visit an in-network dentist because they have pre-negotiated rates to limit the amount you need to pay. You still have the freedom to choose any dentist that accepts your coverage, but you’ll need to pay the difference between the dentist’s fees and your insurance’s allowable amount. At the end of the year, your coverage expires. You won’t be reimbursed for any unused funds, and they won’t carry over into the new year. We’ll help you make the most of your policy, so you aren’t throwing money down the drain.
