Cigna offers both individuals plans and plans that you may be able to get through your employer. The company’s three individual DPPO plans offer varying levels of coverage:

 Cigna Dental Preventive covers basic cleanings and checkups.

 Cigna Dental 1000 pays for up to $1,000 of restorative work in a calendar year. It has a relatively low deductible, but it does not cover orthodontic treatment.

 Cigna Dental 1500 pays for up to $1,500 of restorative work in a calendar year. In addition to having a higher annual maximum than the other plans, it also offers coverage for orthodontia.

All of the Cigna plans cover preventive visits at 100% with no deductible when you visit an in-network dentist. Restorative work may be covered at 50% - 80% (depending on the nature of the work). Costs tend to be higher at out of network providers, so if you ever visit a dental care provider who doesn’t have a contract with Cigna, be sure you thoroughly understand any fees before you agree to treatment.
